The Grace Of Giving
Why Should I Give?
Giving expresses your gratitude to God and joins you to what He is doing. God is a lavish giver. The only reasonable response to such generosity is to share with others what God has so freely given us, joining with Him in reaching people and building lives for eternal impact. The Bible does not say God owns 10% and the rest is ours; God owns everything and we are but stewards. The most important question you can ask yourself is, “Am I becoming more generous with my time, talents, and treasure, or more selfish?”
What Is A Tithe?
A tithe is 10%. In the Bible, the giving of a tithe represents a gift of 10% of the first fruits of one’s increase. The tithe is commanded by God for believers to support the work of the ministry. Just as 2 Corinthians 9:7-8 addresses the heart and intention of those who give, Malachi 3:8-12 also illustrates the blessings available to those who are obedient with the tithe. We are encouraged also to give above the tithe in cheerfulness from the remaining income we are to steward.
How Is My Gift Used At Our Savior’s Church?
Your giving envelope and/or online options will reflect the primary funds we use at Our Savior’s Church.
This is our general fund, used to support the ministry and work of Our Savior’s Church.
Legacy (Building for the Opelousas Campus)
Legacy is our church-wide effort to create a permanent home for the Opelousas Campus that currently meets in Opelousas High School. We give best when we give to others. Every campus is participating in impacting the future of St. Landry Parish.
This is “MyChurch”, a campus specific capital fund used to finance major expenditures for our physical building and facilities. During the Legacy campaign, all Building dollars are being directed toward the future home of the Opelousas Campus.
Gifts may be given online at any time, or you can bring them with you to any of our weekly services. You may also drop them off at your campus office between the hours of 9-4 during the week, or mail your gift to 655 Hwy 96, Broussard, LA 70518. To give online, click here.
You may also give online via your mobile device through the Our Saviors Church app or by texting OSC to 77977.

GOD owns everything. I’m His money manager.
MY HEART always goes where I put God’s money.
HEAVEN, not earth, is my home.
GIVING is the only antidote to materialism.
GOD prospers me not to raise my standard of living, but to raise my standard of giving.
GOD will get it to me, to get it through me.
Online Giving Options
While we always allow people to give in traditional ways, in today’s digital world many people also appreciate online options which can help them be more consistent in the grace of giving. There is no cost to you to use this service. Although we do provide you the option to give using a debit or credit card, we discourage you from going into debt via your credit card to contribute to Our Savior’s Church.
What Are My Digital Giving Options?
Set up a gift using your checking account and it will not only be credited to OSC’s account as often as you choose, it will also go the furthest. Unlike debit/credit card transactions, where OSC pays 3-5% of the total gift in processing fees, using your bank’s routing number allows your gift to be fully used for ministry.
Set up a recurring gift using your debit/credit card and your gift will be immediately credited to OSC’s account as often as you choose.
Your one time gift using your debit or credit card will be immediately credited to OSC’s account as often as you choose.
Many within our church prefer to set up their recurring giving immediately on their pay dates. While we would like to honor that intention, we’ve discovered that every bank processes ACH transactions differently. In order to make sure you experience the best results, we recommend that you set up recurring gifts at least 24 hours after your scheduled payroll deposits.
Other Ways To Give
You can text OSC to 77977 from your mobile phone to receive instructions on how to give from your mobile device.
Send your check to our office at 655 Hwy 96, Broussard, LA 70518, or pick up some of our pre-addressed giving envelopes.
You can bring your gifts to any of our weekly services or drop them off at your campus office between 9-4 during the week.
Through Your Bank
Most banks will allow you to set up reoccurring gifts through their BillPay, EPay, or similar systems which send a automated check to OSC in the amount of your choosing. Visit your bank for more information on how to set this up.
